Holla!

We were out & about on Friday. I wish I looked this cute running errands!

This and That

So. I've been lacking in the picture department. I'm catching up in this post.

1. Turkey Day 2009. We walked the Family 5K. There's us, Ella sleeping, Chase hanging out, and my sister Kaila as a ghost! What the heck happened with these photos?!?! Must have been something with the sunshine....

2. A visit with Grandma Alice during Turkey Day weekend 2009. Ella LOVES her. She just talks & smiles like crazy whenever Grandma Alice is around.

3. LiveSTRONG Day 2009.

4. First night of rice cereal on Wednesday night (10/8). We took this picture after she was done. Hilarious. She didn't really like the cereal, but we'll keep trying. Can't get enough of those smiles!

17 weeks

Here's an updated photo of Ella at 17 weeks (taken on Monday). And a fun bath photo we took last week. Happy
Wednesday!

Only in Farmington

So I stopped to get gas last night on my way home from work. This tractor pulled up to the bay of gas pumps next to me. Are you kidding me?! Only in Farmington. . . seriously.

Guess what Friday is!!!

So, this Friday is October 2, 2009. Yes, I'm awesome & can read the calendar. But, this Friday is special for our family for 2 BIG reasons.

First, October 2, 2009 is LiveSTRONG Day. I encourage all of you reading this blog to wear something YELLOW to commemorate the day. Long story short, LiveSTRONG Day used to fluctuate every year, but starting in 2009 it's always going to be October 2nd because that was the day Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with the testicular cancer that started his journey through chemo & beyond, inspiring us along the way.

Second, Ella bean will be 4 months old on October 2, 2009. I still don't get why some people describe how old their kids are in weeks and others by months (they never match up!) So....I keep track both ways! 4 big months old. Amazing. Her 4 month well visit isn't until 10/16 (oops! I waited too long to get the appointment) but we know she's gaining weight & soon will be putting holes through the feet of her sleepers with her long legs.

So, celebrate with us on 10/2. 1. Wear something yellow (even if it's bananas printed on your underwear - it still counts) and 2. Have a slice of cake (or maybe a cocktail) and toast our survival of 4 months with a baby.

So it's been awhile....

Hey. Here are some updates from us! So Ella is 3 1/2 months old & weighs 12 lb. 10 oz. as of last week at her dr. appointment. She has acid reflux. If it's not one thing it's another I guess! She was spitting up clear "stuff" all the time and most times it was coming out in a projectile fashion, so we took her in to figure out what was going on. They prescribed a medicine (Zantac) to take, which we've been doing for the past week. We took her into the dr. again today b/c she has become a different baby since starting this medicine - REALLY mad at certain points throughout the day. Our dr. decided she should have an upper chest GI, which was basically a scan of her internal organs. That was today. Talk about stressful!! We went to Children's Hospital in Mpls. They had her drink barrium (white nasty chaulky looking stuff) and then watched her drink on this scan machine. All checked out well (thank goodness!) but now we're still stuck with a big question mark of what is causing her discomfort. We are going to try a lower dose of Zantac for the next 2 days. If that doesn't work, we'll be heading back to the dr. to try something else. I just feel bad b/c she can't tell us what's wrong and when she's screaming & actual tears are coming out, I just want to cry along with her! But, I'm just relieved that the scan checked out okay so we know that her organs are all working as they should.

I started back to work after labor day, but have since decided to take more time for our family. I'll be working part-time for a while, which I'm SOOO excited about. I have been a mental disaster since returning to work. It's TOUGH! So now I'll have more time with Ella during the week and still get out of the house for a few days of work. I wish I was working closer to home, but at this point, at least I'm not commuting downtown 5 days a week.

I think that sums up the major developments with us since my last entry. We were in Worthington over the weekend to celebrate Turkey Day with the family! It was fun (although we were struggling to figure out what was wrong with Ella the entire time). We missed the Turkey Race down mainstreet (Ella was in the midst of a freakout), but no worries - Paycheck won! We didn't run the 10K (maybe next year?!?!) but we did walk the Family 5K. I'll have to get pictures to post later this week.

Baptism Pics & Ella's 3 Months Old!

Ella was baptized on August 30th at our church in Lakeville. There's something about taking Ella to church...it prompts her to have a poopy diaper during the service. Hasn't failed yet. So, that was fun....changing her diaper while she's wearing a long white gown! But, we made it through and she didn't really cry or fuss too much. The weather was a lot cooler than we anticipated though - check out Ella's undergarments (by this point we had already lost the socks & shoes)!

Yesterday Ella officially turned 3 months old! Again....I can't believe how fast it is going. I think any day now she's going to officially giggle for us. She does something that resembles a laugh, but not quite there yet. Can't wait to hear it! Weekend plans include a trip to the State Fair. Happy Labor Day everyone!
